Atlanta, GA (January 4^th, 2018) – Hancock Askew & Co., LLP, a full-service audit, tax, accounting and consulting firm is proud to announce Manager, Rebecca Mowen, and Senior Accountant, Kavita Patel, have received the designation of Certified Internal Auditors, CIA.
As the only globally recognized certification for internal auditors, becoming a Certified Internal Auditor is the optimum way to communicate understanding of the Institute of Internal Auditor’s Standards and how to apply them. Earning the CIA designation is a valuable accomplishment and a professional advantage for auditors at all stages of their careers.
 About Rebecca Mowen, CPA, CIA

Rebecca is a Manager at Hancock Askew and has over 15 years of experience in both audit and tax. As a Manager, she assists in managing the firm’s Audit and Risk Advisory practice and serves as a training leader for the firm.
At Hancock Askew, she coordinates financial statement audit engagements in addition to managing three internal audit engagements for public companies.  Her dual training and professional experience in both tax and audit provides an added benefit to the clients she serves.
She is a graduate of Berry College with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She received her Masters of Accountancy from Kennesaw State University. She holds membership in the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
About Kavita Patel, CPA, CIA

Kavita is a Senior at Hancock Askew and has 3.5 years of experience in public accounting. Kavita primarily focuses on internal audits, employee benefit plan audits, and financial statement audits. She has worked on the audits of both publicly traded and privately held companies.
Kavita graduated from Kennesaw State University, where she received a BBA in Accounting degree. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Georgia and is a member of both the AICPA and GSCPA.
