Atlanta GA (March 7, 2019) – Hancock Askew & Co., LLP, a full-service audit, tax, accounting and consulting firm is proud to announce the appointment of Partner, Jodi Malis, to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Enforcement Subcommittee for the 2019-2020 year. The Enforcement Subcommittee consists of AICPA members who are appointed annually by the chair of the AICPA Board of Directors.

The Professional Ethics Division of the AICPA oversees the Enforcement Subcommittee (combining the Technical Standards Sub-Committee (TNS) and the Independence/Behavioral Standards (IND/BHS) Sub-committee in May 2019). The Enforcement Subcommittee is primarily responsible for the investigation of complaints alleging violation of the rules of the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct relating to member’s performance of professional services (TNS) and those complaints involving independence or behavioral standards (IND/BHS).

About Jodi Malis, CPA

Jodi is a Partner at Hancock Askew and has over 30 years of public accounting experience. In her role, she oversees assurance and advisory services for numerous public and private companies and manages the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) Audit practice. Jodi specializes in audits, researching complex accounting and auditing issues, and SEC and financial reporting.

Jodi is deeply involved in EBP community. She served on the Executive Committee of the AICPA EBP Audit Quality Center, served on TNS since 2013, and is a frequent conference speaker at AICPA events. Jodi holds two advanced AIPCA Certifications, Advanced Defined Contribution and Advanced Defined Pension Plans. Jodi is again Chair of the 2019 Georgia Society of CPAs EBP Conference and a 2017-2018 committee member. Jodi has presented at the Massachusetts State Conference in 2017 and 2018 and at the Florida Mega Conference in 2017, 2018 and 2019 on EBP technical standards.
